Mountain Biking & Cycling
Peddling along the summits of the Gitschberg-Jochtal Alpine region
Peddling up hill and down dale, past gushing mountain streams and over the Alpine meadows is both a sport and leisure experience in a class all of its own. There is a varied network of cycle paths throughout the Gitschberg-Jochtal holiday region, running along some of the most magnificent scenic routes. A highly worthwhile ride best suited to physically fit and more experienced cyclists follows the trail on the Rodenecker-Lüsner Alm pastures across one of the most stunning mountain regions in South Tyrol.
Families and recreational cyclists enjoy riding over the meadows along the Pustertal Valley Cycle Route following the streams and rivers. The first section of the Alpine cycle track starts in Mühlbach, leading along the romantic River Rienz as it winds its way all the way to Bruneck. The second section of the cycle track leads to Innichen, with a breath-taking panoramic view of the Dolomites. The third stretch of the Pustertal Valley Cycle Route crosses the Italian-Austrian border all the way to Lienz in East Tyrol.
