The Pichlerhof: 1,400 m above the daily humdrum
Outdoor sports enthusiasts, families and nature lovers are all at home on our farm in sunny Meransen. Surrounded by fields and meadows the pure mountain air up on this panoramic plateau at an altitude of 1,450 m, is truly regenerative for everyone.
The Meransen-Gitschberg cableway valley station is only a 15-minute walk away from our farm, taking you all the way up into the Gitschberg-Jochtal ski and hiking area. The idyllic Altfasstal Valley is ideal for leisurely family hikes. After hiking in the nearby Valsertal Valley, the rustic huts on Fane Alm pasture welcome hikers with hearty home-cooked platters and refreshments.
Worth noting: thanks to the AlmenCard PLUS access pass issued upon arrival, our guests have free use of the Meransen and Gitschberg-Jochtal mountain railways, as well as municipal buses and local trains throughout South Tyrol.
There is a lot to experience on our farm near the picturesque village of Meransen in the Gitschberg-Jochtal holiday region: families setting off on a day’s hike can choose between forest or the Alpine pastures.
To the sound of snow crunching underfoot, breath quickly vaporises and cheeks become flushed as the hiker ascends the snow-covered slopes: winter on the Pichlerhof farm is an authentic Alpine experience! There is no queuing at the Gitschberg ski area just a 15 min walk away, with rapid ski descents and sledding down into the valley. It’s just a matter of strapping on your skis & taking off … ready, steady, go!
