Farm life in the heart of the mountains

Going back 400-years, the Pichlerhof is today a modern working dairy farm in South Tyrol. Today, three generations of the family live under one roof starting with hosts, Matthias and Johanna and their four children: Verena, Angelika, Valentin and Laura. Last, but not least, is Grandma Irma. At the Pichlerhof, families with children have all the space they need to play, run around and enjoy themselves amidst the pastures and meadows. The completely refurbished, modernised farmstead consists of two air-conditioned buildings housing a total of five apartments as well as a large barn for the livestock.

As a working farm, the Pichlerhof offers visitors the chance to experience the authentic South Tyrolean mountain lifestyle. With livestock including cows, pigs, rabbits, chickens, a few cats and “Balu” (our beloved dog), the kids have a chance to experience something about farm life. Such as milking the cows, feeding the chickens, picking dandelions, harvesting fruit and berries & much more besides!  With so much to do, learning about life on a farm in the Alps is always fun. Adults are also welcome to take part in our daily activities and experience the rural lifestyle on a traditional yet modern mountain farm in South Tyrol.
